Keep your subjects, but transfer them into a new scene. Keep control over the pixels and movement.
Remove Objects
Easily remove objects, even moving ones!
Replace Objects
Quickly add or change objects by providing a reference and a mask!

Quickstart
- Create account, generate the API key (first API key creation adds 200 free credits to your ledger).
- Download the sample project.
- Open the project file.
- On the blacefx layer click "Start Compute" and wait until you see "Encoding..." (takes a few seconds).
- Occasionally click "Check state", until the rendering is done.
- The resulting image sequence is automatically added to your composition.
- Please read the documentation for further usage instructions.
FAQ
-
Pricing / How much does one credit cost?
You get 200 credits the first time you generate an API key in your account. One credit equals one US cent, so 100 credits equal $1. The cost of generation depends on the resolution and clip length. We expect approximately 10 credits per second for 720p video in a 16:9 aspect ratio.
-
Local processing
We plan to release a version of the plugin that runs entirely locally. However, the underlying AI model requires approximately 60 GB of VRAM, so we initially focused on providing a more accessible cloud-based solution.
-
Resolution
Currently, the maximum resolution is limited to 1280 pixels on the longest side. We are already working on support for higher resolutions.
-
Duration
Currently, clips must be between 2 and 5 seconds long. We are working on extending the maximum duration to at least 10 seconds.
-
Background replacement
The reference image should already show your character(s) in the desired new scene. You can create this using tools like Nano Banana or traditional compositing techniques.
-
Relighting
Currently, BlaceFX does not relight pixels excluded from generation (shown in black in the mask). Including objects in the generated areas of the mask will allow them to be modified. However, you can always composite your original content (e.g., a face) back on top.
-
Models used
We use a combination of several open-source video generation models, which we have customized and optimized for integration into After Effects.
-
Why is the state of the plugin "Queued" for a longer time?
A server is provisioned for you. Usually your request goes immediately to an already running server, but during peak times and the public beta period availability can be lower.
-
"Check State" button is not shown
Due to some AE internal limitations this might not always show after you started rendering. But if you click a few times on the "State ..." text it will show eventually.
